About the Camp
Shanghai Chinese Winter Camp by That’s Mandarin offers students aged 14–17 an engaging study abroad experience combining Chinese language learning, cultural activities, excursions, and life in China’s vibrant metropolis. Suitable for complete beginners, the programme focuses on developing practical spoken Chinese through interactive lessons, games, and real-world communication.
Based in Shanghai, students participate in Chinese classes taught by experienced teachers, alongside a varied programme of cultural activities, weekday excursions, evening events, and field trips. Designed to provide a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture, the programme combines classroom learning with hands-on experiences and opportunities to explore local attractions.
Accommodation is available in private-room homestays with local host families, and full board including breakfast, lunch, and dinner is provided daily. Students receive daily support from dedicated camp staff and benefit from small class sizes, carefully supervised excursions, airport transfers, and 24/7 supervision throughout their stay.
The programme has a duration of 2 weeks. For the 2026–2027 winter season join on 23 November, 7 December and 4 January, and for the 2027–2028 winter season join on 22 November, 6 December and 3 January.

Participation Dates

Transfer
Arrival and departure transfers between the local airport or train station and the accommodation are included in the programme package. Upon arrival, students will be welcomed by programme representatives and assisted with transportation to their hotel or host family house. Please note that transfers are only available within the city where the programme takes place, provided that arrival and departure take place on Sundays between 09:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
