General English – Intensive Course (Leeds Campus)
Kyoto Summer Camp by Genki Japanese and Culture School offers students aged 14–19 an engaging study abroad experience combining Japanese language learning, cultural activities, and travel. Suitable for complete beginners (A0), the programme helps students build practical communication skills through structured lessons and immersive real-world practice.
Based in Kyoto, students follow a balanced schedule of 20 Japanese lessons per week, alongside cultural workshops and guided excursions. Activities include experiences such as furoshiki wrapping, Kyoto yuzen dyeing, maiko experience, manga artist workshop, traditional sweets making with matcha tea, goshuin book making, and visits to cultural sites including Nara, Uji, Fushimi, and Kibune. Students also enjoy regular excursions, including a Saturday day trip every two weeks to destinations such as Himeji Castle and Amanohashidate.
Accommodation is provided in carefully selected homestays with Japanese families on a half-board basis, offering breakfast and dinner daily. Airport transfers to and from Itami (ITM) or Kansai (KIX) airports are included (separate package options). Students benefit from 24/7 emergency support and supervision throughout their stay.
The programme runs from 6 July to 28 August 2026 with multiple start dates and is available in 2-week and 4-week options.
